Kristen Lima

M.A.

Drawing from her professional background in teaching and in management and from her educational background in psychology, Kristen “fell into” the field of substance use treatment in 2012, instantaneously finding a deep sense of purpose in helping clients pursue a better life than the one they were currently leading. Over her treatment career, she has held positions such as education coordinator, case management coordinator, admissions, program director, and facility administrator – enjoying the ability these positions have afforded her to work on the frontlines with clients while acting as a liaison, with executive agency staff, community partners, and stakeholders to bring needed changes that allow for improved quality of services and removal of barriers to substance use treatment.

Driven by a core belief that every person entering recovery should be treated with the utmost dignity, Kristen is passionate about providing exceptional, individualized care and holistic substance use treatment to each person from the moment they walk through the door until the moment they complete treatment. Described as a strong people leader and recognized for clear vision and direction, she serves with exceptional client focus and is dedicated to the highest standards of quality and operational excellence. She holds expertise in developing people through a collaborative approach that values diversity. Adept in communicating with all levels from C-Suite to entry-level on-site and remotely, Kristen finds purpose utilizing these skill sets whether she is sitting down face to face with a client who struggling, meeting with staff to collaborate on service provision, or presenting the vision and mission of the services we provide to community stakeholders. She brings value to our team as an outside-the-box thinker and solution-oriented team-builder.

Kristen holds a B. A. in Psychology which she obtained at Montclair State University and a Masters in Human Services Counseling and Executive Leadership from Liberty University. She holds certifications in Crisis Intervention Training and Nurtured Heart Training and has completed all her coursework toward her LCADC. When she is not working, Kristen most enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also finds joy in running outdoors, traveling, savoring a great cup of coffee, and trying new cuisines.
